Mother and Daughter: Facing Life’s Last Chapters
Share Their Emotional Journey and Learn How to Embark on Your Own
Presented by:
Libby Bortz, LCSW, BCD
Patty Bortz, J.D., CSA©
In presentations to groups throughout the Denver metro area, Libby and Patty Bortz share their emotional journey as mother and daughter discussing the difficult topics of aging, dying and what matters most in the later chapters of life. They help other sons, daughters, fathers, mothers and partners learn how to start such critically important conversations with their own loving yet reluctant family members. |
About the Speakers
Libby Bortz is a licensed clinical social worker with a long career as a therapist and involved citizen. Libby currently serves on a number of boards, locally and nationally, and is a member of the University of Colorado’s Medical School Committee. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and master’s in social work from the University of Denver.
Patty Bortz began her career practicing law as a staff attorney for the Alabama Supreme Court. She took time off from practicing law to raise two now-adult children and transitioned her career into the nonprofit world, where she has worked tirelessly to improve Colorado’s public education and later to enrich the lives of seniors. She is a certified mediator and a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). Patty serves on a number of boards and volunteers for several causes about which she is passionate. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her law degree from the University of Denver.
